Jacob Williams
Jacob has been making records in studios big & small, home & commercial, since 2015.
Jacob started recording professionally with Mikal Blue at Revolver Recordings, where he learned that there’s no “right” way to record a song.
From there, he built a home studio in SFV where he spent the past 6 years focusing on his band, Spectre Jones, as well as recording local bands and artists. Casa Loam is also where his partnership with Noah Dearborn developed, and the first recordings the two produced together were done there. While at Loam, he learned the joys of recording to analog tape, how to get the big sounds out of small places, and most importantly, that the best work tends to come out of the most fun sessions.
Jacob is always on the search for his next favorite sound and his next favorite song. Wonderhaus is the beginning of a dream realized, and Jacob is so excited to help artists embrace their most basic musical desires, reject what others say can be “commercial”, and record things that actually excite them!
Noah Dearborn
Noah’s musical journey began at the ripe age of 2 when he could be found searching the kitchen cabinets for household items to build his various DIY drum sets. That fiddly spirit never left as he can still be found misusing all sorts of studio gear in pursuit of maximum creative freedom. In his partnership with Jacob, he heads up the mixing and post-production end of things.
He has spent the last 4 years in and around commercial studios including Boulevard Recording, Sunset Sound, Palomino Sound, Tiny Telephone, Revolver Recordings, and others.
Noah loves committing to sounds “on the way in”. His philosophy is that it is always the right time to take a risk or make a choice that excites everyone in the room. The more times the room can react with “that’s ridiculous” during a session, the better. Given that he thinks most metronomes should be outlawed, he is most excited about how Wonderhaus enables bands to track together “in the room”.
He also made 5 minute brownies in under 4.5 minutes one time and thinks you should know that.
